FC Pro: Canvas now displaying warning triangle or green circle with checkmark?

What have I done !!

While editing I must have accidentally hit the keyboard with an extra stroke or two?

My canvas display is now showing a small yellow warning triangle with an exclamation mark inside, and at different times a green circle with a black checkmark inside. If I attempt to start a new project in Final Cut Pro (ver 7.0.2), they appear as well.

These symbols only appear when the Canvas display is paused; when playing back a video these symbols are not present and video and audio seem normal.

Below are screen shots of the upper portion of the Canvas display paused; What do these mean, and how do I deactivate them?

You have Range Check (or Excess Luma) turned on. You can turn it off using the drop-down menu at the top of the Canvas window or in the View menu.

FWIW, the green checkmark means that levels are OK. The yellow triangle mean the luminance levels are too hot.

What a relief !............both the green checkmark and yellow warning have gone away. I had no idea what these symbols meant, or where to look for help.
